Tired of the sterile hotel rooms and malfunctioning electronic swipe cards? Already been to the Marriott or the Hilton or the Radisson in every other country? If you’re looking to experience Panama City – the real flavors, sounds, and colors – outside the windows of a tour bus, experience Los Cuatro Tulipanes Boutique Apartments in Casco Viejo Panama: Panama City’s alternative to generic luxury accommodations.

With the help of Los Cuatro Tulipanes, choose from a small fleet of luxury apartments, ranging from one bedroom to three, all fully furnished and wired for the ultimate traveler. Whether a corporate visit or that long-awaited vacation, these apartments located in the UNESCO World Heritage neighborhood of Casco Viejo combine the pleasantries of hotel living with the privacy and intimacy of being a local. All Los Cuatro Tulipanes apartments include daily maid service, a full-time concierge, and proximity to Casco Viejo’s top new restaurants and bars – a long cross-bay cry from the towering skyscrapers and drab streets of downtown Panama City.

Experience Panama City as savvy travelers have now for years by staying in Casco Viejo. Breezy plazas, cobblestone streets, and a sense of old-world charm. Casco Viejo might very well be the most interesting neighborhood in the Americas, and Los Cuatro Tulipanes Apartment Rentals is the medium to take advantage of it all.

Los Cuatro Tulipanes FAQs

Where are we located?

Casa Las Monjas, Apto. No. 2A
Avenida Central between Calle 3 and Calle 4 (Above Granclement Ice Cream)
Casco Antiguo, Panama City

What is the best way to inquire about a reservation?

Filling out the reservation form (in its entiretySmile) is best and you’ll receive a response within 24hrs regarding availability and other options if existing.

When/Where can we Check-In?

Check-In is from 2pm to 6pm, but you can Check-In earlier or later with notification and subject to other reservations. You will Check-In at the office and then we will lead you to your apartment in Casco Viejo.

Early Check-In

If no one rents the apartment the night before, you are free to Check-In the apartment as early as you please. But if there are guests staying in the apartment the night before, you cannot enter the apartment until 2:00pm to allow the previous guests to Check-Out and for us to clean.

If someone rents the apartment the night before, you would come Check-in at whatever time on your Check-In date (pay any outstanding balance, receive your keys, leave your luggage in the office and we’ll show you where your apartment is), but you cannot enter the apartment until 2:00pm.

If you have a reservation and need an early Check-In, please email us the day before your Check-In and we can alert you if someone has rented the apartment for the night before your arrival.

Check-Out?

Check-Out is at 11:00am and we ask that you leave your keys on the Kitchen Table and lock the door when you leave.

Late Check-Out?

Must be requested beforehand and we will extend the Check-Out time until 1:30pm if possible, but if another guest wants to rent the apartment the day of your departure, we cannot provide a late Check-Out and you will have to Check-Out at 11:00am. However, if you pay an extra 50% nightly rate, than we will guarantee a late Check-Out until 6pm but this has to be confirmed beforehand.

Breakfast?

There are so many great options in the area and we suggest you walk around and check them out. If you would prefer not or are leaving early, we can arrange for a pre-made breakfast to be delivered ($5/person per morning) the night before (consisting of granola, yogurt, toast, jam, butter, a hard boiled egg, a piece of fruit and orange juice). This is done because, one, we do not have a central location to serve breakfast and two, as we know everyone is on different schedules, we believe this offers the most mobility for our guests and a quick bite to eat to get the morning started.

Airport Pickup?

You send your flight information, arrival time, airport you’re arriving at and the number of passengers in your party and we will arrange the pick-up whereby our driver will meet you at the Airport and bring you to our office where you will Check-In.

Internet?

All of our apartments are equipped with internet which is free for your use. Some apartments have speeds which are faster than others and some apartments are wireless, so please be sure to read the description of the apartment. Also, remember that here in the historic quarter, walls are very old and thick so internet can be occasionally touchy.

Laundry?

Some of our apartments have laundry machines and some don’t. Again, please be sure to read the description of the apartment. If you would like, we would be happy to do a load of laundry for you which would be washed, dried, folded and returned the following day and which would be $10 payable in cash upon delivery of the laundry. As for Dry cleaning, when we receive the clothes we will deliver them back to you in two days time and you will pay the cost and a $5 Service Fee.

Cell Phones?

The absolute easiest solution is for you to go to any one of the malls and stop by Digicel, Cable & Wireless, or Movistar and pick up a PrePaid Cellphone for $25.

Pets?

Sorry, no pets allowed.

Cancellations?

If notice is received within 21 days of Reservation, no refund will be issued. If notice is received 22 days or more in advance of Reservation, a full refund will be issued minus a $50 cancellation fee. Partial room deposit via PayPal is required to confirm reservation and is 100% non-refundable.

Run by the young dynamic duo of Matt and Keenan, Los Cuatro Tulipanes is a bit more pricey than either of the two aforementioned options, but I consider it to be one of Panama’s nicest accommodations. Their tastefully remodeled Casco Viejo apartments are simply spectacular. If you are lucky, the street savy duo might even let you tag along with them during their nightlife escapades.

Matt and Keenan are great. When we arrived late, Keenan was out on the street looking for our car. We pointed and knew immediately that we were looking for each other. We met Matt when we left. My nephew, who was at the apts a few months before raved about him.
And…the apts were very very nice.

We were staying at The Veneto and were entirely unsatisfied there. During dinner in Casco Viejo, we met someone from Tulipanes who was more accommodating than can be expressed. He showed us the available rooms, made us a reservation for the next night, and drove us back into the city when we couldn’t find a cab from Casco late in the evening. Our room at Tulipanes was GORGEOUS, with a beautiful view, and in an awesome part of Casco. The Tulipanes staff treated us like best friends they hadn’t seen in years. I can’t wait to go back (because I’ll definitely go back to Panama) and stay at Tulipanes again.

Tribe 1 is Awesome! Beautifully decorated, clean and located right next to Plaza Bolivar with an ocean view from the balcony. The unit included full kitchen amenities and a washer and dryer. The Staff was extremely accommodating – Very nice people! They even include a booklet in the room that gives recommendations on where to eat in the area. We hope to return to Panama soon and when we do, we’ll be sure to stay here again.

We lived in a Los Cuatro Tulipanes apt. for 2 years while we waited for our restoration to be completed. We also put up our guests in their apartments during “our lost years” when we had no guest room. All were SO pleased to have a full apartment for their stay vs. a cookie-cutter hotel room…and in our vibrant neighborhood.

Matt and Keenan are truly “jacks of all trades” and accomodating hosts. If you plan ahead & are willing to bankroll his trip to the market, you just might be able to cajol Keenan into making the best egg rolls you have ever eaten.

With 95% of the hotels in Panama ranking around a 3 out of 5 stars in service, why not take care of yourself!? These apartments are a dream and offer a freestyle-living experience with amazing accommodations in a historic and dynamic neighborhood. Consider the options!

I can’t thank you enough for putting us in the Los Cuatros Tulipanes.

It was a perfect spot for us to wander around and the 3 young men that ran the place were more like welcoming nephews than hotel keepers. Evan, Keenen and (sorry i forget the last guy’s name) made terrific suggestions on what to see, where to go and Evan even walked us thru the not so nice area to the fish market.
