Homemade Cerveza Beer, at the Istmo Brew Pub

If you are looking for the chance to try out some homemade Panamanian microbrew beers, the Istmo Brew Pub is your only option anywhere in Panama City. Conveniently located in El Cangrejo, one of the nicer areas of the city that is home to many of the best casinos, hotels and restaurants around, Istmo is a laid back place to relax, share some food and drinks with friends, or even go to catch the game. There is plenty of seating around the bar and a pool table inside, and there is sufficient outdoor seating both in front along the main street and at a few picnic tables out back.

The Istmo Brew Pub’s local homemade beers can be sampled together in five small glasses all at once, or can also be ordered by the pint or by the pitcher. The care and detail that goes into brewing your own beer can is reflected in the prices, and Istmo also boasts one of the best selections of imported beers found anywhere in Panama. Focusing on specialty options, at Istmo they do not serve any Panamanian domestic beers, and for that reason it is not the cheapest deal in town to go grab a beer with friends. However, for something out of the norm, the Istmo Brew Pub is unique and fun in terms of its offerings and design.
