Tips When Clubbin in Panama: Bottle Bargain
Here is a quick tip to save your group of friends some money next time you go out clubbing in Panama. Buy a bottle. Some clubs will allow you to buy a bottle, and in exchange they will waive their front door cover charge. It might not sound like a great deal, buying an entire bottle of liquor at $60, or more, to avoid a $10 cover. But if you do the math, in many instances you will save money.

For example, you and a group of 3 other friends are going out clubbing in Panama. You’re deciding between Guru, Pure, Gallery and a few other clubs, all of which have a $10 plus front door covers. That equates at least $40 dollars in cover charges (4 people X $10 cover per person = $40).
Meaning, your (sober) group has already dished out $40 without a drop of alcohol to show for it.
Do the math:
Lets say that each person has 3 drinks.
3 drinks X 4 people = 12 drinks.
12 drinks X $5 per drink = $60 spend on drinks.
$60 spent on drinks + $40 on the front cover charge =$100
Instead your group buys a bottle at the door.
Bottles cost between $60-$80- let’s use the $80 example.
$80 bottle + $0 cover charge = $80
Saving your group at least $20, if not more because of bottle is capable of pouring out 15 or more drinks. Not to mention, buying the bottle has indirect benefits; saving you time not waiting by the bar, and inflating your ego because when you buy a bottle you get a private table. A private table with your own bottle to use an Ebonics term is “Ballin”.
